Shredded fresh coconut- 1/4cup
Roasted bengal gram dal( pottukadalai)- 2tbsp

Green chilli( slit)- 4( +\-)
Ginger( chopped)-1/2"
Salt to taste

For temperingOil-1tsp
Urad dal-1tbsp
Mustard seeds-1tsp

In a mixer add shredded coconut, roasted bengal gram dal, green chilli, chopped ginger and required salt. Grind the coconut mixture to a very smooth paste adding required water. Remove coconut chutney to a medium size bowl. Heat 1 tsp oil in a small pan, when oil is hot add mustard seeds, when mustard seeds crackle add the urad dal and fry till golden brown. Add this mustard tempering to the prepared coconut chutney and mix well. Serve delicious Coconut Chutney with hot dosas or idli.
